I make things in a small workshop in North Yorkshire.
Woodworking, making, and the thoughts that come with it.
Somewhere along the way, I realised it’s never just about what we build.
I’ve been working with wood in some form or other for over 50 years. What started as a makeshift bench made from a fencepost and an old door has somehow turned into this — a quiet corner of the internet where I make things, try new ideas, and occasionally get things wrong.
Usually with a cup of tea nearby.
These days I share that through the odd video on YouTube, the Three Northern Makers podcast, and a monthly newsletter called Making It Square.
It’s not really about tips or trends. It’s more about what making teaches us — in the workshop and outside it.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, you’re very welcome.
The kettle’s usually on.
